Youth Program: DESTINY'S PROMISE
The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) is taking charge and advancing Mary McLeod Bethune’s legacy into the 21st Century. “I leave you, finally, a responsibility to our young people.” Our girls need love, nurturing, guidance, education, support and a stable environment in which to live and thrive. It is imperative that we provide girls [of African decent] with the tools needed to not only survive, but also to succeed and lead in an ever-changing world. The Council strongly encourages each NCNW section to form a Youth Section to help organize and train adolescent females, ages 12-18, in our community. Girls can become great leaders if they are given the necessary foundation.
