We have had many dedicated Presidents and leaders over the past 60 years and appreciate their commitment, dedication and willingness to serve.
Today the Tampa Metropolitan Section of NCNW functions as an organization that enriches Bay Area communities through outreaches such as social welfare, education, youth group (Destiny’s Promise) and health initiatives. With more than 100 active members, the Tampa Metropolitan Section of NCNW carries out the mission of their dear founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune.
Such missions include a youth group, Destiny’s Promise, acquisition of food for needy families, volunteering with local charities, leading the implementation of national health initiative in Florida, annual life member Harambe Breakfast, annual Mary McLeod Bethune Cookman Luncheon, annual Visit Your Child in School Day, and the Unity Day Service. The Tampa Metropolitan Section is richly blessed with women who are dedicated to changing their community. Not only are they making strides locally, but they also make great contributions on the national level with more than 50 Life Members and 3 Legacy Life Members.
Ms. Electa D. Davis, is the newly elected President of the NCNW, Tampa Metropolitan Section. Ms. Davis will continue to carry the torch of Dr. Bethune's legacy to promote harmony, economic advancement, education and faith, to help the Section meet the challenges of the new digital economy.
